About Me

I am a photographer, writer and social scientist...this is my forum for creative expression. I am using this blog to document my days and nights in the city that never sleeps...all the photographs, unless otherwise credited, have been shot by yours truly. If I offend you...good...I hope you begin to think more critically about the world in which we live. I am here to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly...and there is a whole lotta ugly out there!!! If you have a problem with anything that I write or photograph, let me know. It will not change my opinion but I appreciate and welcome discourse. One little bit of advice...don't do stupid things and let me photograph you...it will turn up on my blog.

Thanks.

Oval Vodka launch party - atl - girls kissing girls

Hello!!!!
A couple of weeks ago I had to shoot a launch party in Atlanta for Oval Vodka.
I flew to Atlanta (got stuck in the airport for 8 hours) the day of the event, met up with some of my friends (I went to college in Atl), and made some money doing what I love to do (taking pictures). I was back home in NYC less than 24 hours after arriving in the A-town...I wish I had a chance to stay longer...oh well.

OK...back to Oval Vodka.
You have to try this liquor -- it is pretty awesome. Somehow the vodka is structured (instead of distilled), so it has a refreshingly smooth taste and can easily be used for tons of drink recipes (it is also 84 proof - awesome). It is unlike any other vodka that you have tasted....and has one of the most original bottle designs that I have seen in a while.

Love the shirt!!!

Always show love for/to the DJ!!!!!!

The night was hosted by Trishelle and Mark from the Real World and Road Rules TV shows that used to air on MTV. They currently host a show on E! and were casting for hot new co-hosts.

These two were a lot of fun to work with.

Below, we have Jamal Anderson...the former Atlanta Falcons star running back. If you didn't know, he also has aspirations to be an emcee, so once he got in the DJ Booth, he was on the mic all night...that dude was wild.

What up Mark...this cat was pretty cool -- he worked really well with all of the contestants that auditioned to co-host Wild on E!.

Below, we have one of my good friends from college - Nick (third person from the left). He is one of the producers of #1 single, Kryptonite.
On the far left is his neighbor, next to Nick is his girlfriend and on the right of Nick is my girlfriend.

Contestants-- I wonder if they made the cut?

This couple was having a great time...that's how you get it in the club!!!

Girls kissing grils!!

I'M OUT!!!!!!!
Peace to all the students at Morehouse, Clark and Spellman...you are the future.

Fader Magazine Party -- Rodriguez performance

Last Wednesday, I had a pretty interesting night...we were supposed to hit up a party at Tavern on the Green, but never made it. We wound up at a Fader party in downtown Manhattan, check out the evening. Peace.

We ran into these two young ladies...one from Sweden and one from England....hipsters are taking over the world.

Ok - the Fader Party...
Nice Tat.

The highlight of the night...the Rodriguez performance...
This dude was crazy. After the show, we were hanging out near the dressing room and got a chance to talk to him for a couple of minutes...he was partying!!!! Big love to all the children of the sixties.

I recently have taken to shooting shoes and feet...it has nothing to do with a foot fetish, just good taste.

These two partyiers were cool as hell...I don't know what I love more; homeboy with the murse (man purse) or the young lady with the tail... you have to love FIT students.

Check out the sleeve.

Always show love to the DJs!!!!!

Check out the dress- the colors are stunning.

What up Andrea!!!!

Jim Jones Performance with Funk Master Flex at Guest House

Last Thursday I was asked to shoot
FUNKMASTER FLEX @ FLY HIGH THURSDAYS
Hosted By Jim Jones & Maino. I was pleasantly surprised.

Funk Master Flex was on the tables most of the night and Jim Jones hopped in the DJ booth to rock a couple of songs.
In all honesty, I am not the biggest Jim Jones fan, I mean, he named himself after a cult leader...but i think the dude has charisma out of this atmosphere and he kept the party rocking.
But before all of that...applause, for the people!!!

Dj Envy

Funk Master Flex on the turntables...Don't sleep, Flex was doing his thing.

I never caught this dude's name, but he was Djing with Flex...he killed it!!

My man from the Wire, JD Williams.

Nuff said.

Now, that's a party!!!!!!!!! Get it girl!!!!!!

I had to leave to get batteries and on my way back in, this young lady asked me to take a picture of her.

Jim Jones on the mic...when this dude hit the booth, the whole club went crazy...as if it didn't already smell like dank in the club....

Jim Jones and Flex.

On my way out, I ran into this dude (he was cool)...we talked about politics for twenty or thirty minutes.
I won't reveal his political leanings, but let's just say that we disagree on some major issues.
All this to say...vote...for Obama.

After the party, I went to my girlfriends crib, packed and took a cab to the airport...next stop Atlanta!!!!!!!
Look out for the next couple of posts...Oval Party ATl, Mckibbin Party, and Rosetta Stoned Show at Cake Shop.
