About Me

I am a photographer, writer and social scientist...this is my forum for creative expression. I am using this blog to document my days and nights in the city that never sleeps...all the photographs, unless otherwise credited, have been shot by yours truly. If I offend you...good...I hope you begin to think more critically about the world in which we live. I am here to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly...and there is a whole lotta ugly out there!!! If you have a problem with anything that I write or photograph, let me know. It will not change my opinion but I appreciate and welcome discourse. One little bit of advice...don't do stupid things and let me photograph you...it will turn up on my blog.

Thanks.

Rosetta Stoned and Yo Majesty Tour -- MIAMI - FRI

Friday, we drove from Orlando down to Miami...

...The show was at Studio A - a club in downtown Miami.

Below are some of the Studio A staff members...they were far cooler than the promoter of the event.

Our homegirl, Mauikai, came through to the show on Friday. She is one of the dopest independent emcees we have performed with - she can sing, she can rap and she has amazing content.
Backstage action!!!! It's on...grab the patron!!

Shunda K -- Club Action!!!!

This is Carlos...an animator out of Miami. His friends were Djing the show after ours...this club stayed open until 12 noon the next day.

After the show we went to Freamon's cousin's house to drop off the equipment. She lives on a hippie compound in the middle of little Haiti. She has great taste in ornaments and trinkets...check out the stuff in the background.

After all of the equipment was dropped off, we drove into South Beach for the Memorial Day weekend festivities. For all of those that don't know, South Beach on Memorial Day weekend has become on eof the craziest annual events to take place. Thousands of young people congregate, fraternize and party until the sun comes up (or the cop shut the city down).
The following pictures are not for the faint of heart...

Amongst the throngs of hoodtastic and ghetto fabulous partygoers, we found this nice lady...a proud member of the God Squad. And, of course, the policia!!!!!
On bike, on foot, in cars...the cops were everywhere.

Our tour manager and some friends...the Chukie doll is ill.!!

Dj Orion with a nice young lady.
Cool .
Dave doing a dance for some ladies.

I can't tell you how good this food smelled.

DISCLAIMER - I DID NOT TAKE THE FOLLOWING PICTURE!!! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GIVE YOUR CAMERA TO A FRIEND.-----------

Now...we all know that Miami is crazy...but I hope you realize that this next image is a man.
He was hanging out with three girls in bikinis (they were all really women), but he was not...he was also the least dressed out of the four of them -- bikini and all.
I hope you read the copy before staring at the picture above...if you didn't, it's your own fault.

I DID TAKE THE REST OF THE PICTURES YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE.

After walking around for a while, we ended up at some hole in the wall bar with cheap drinks and a fun wait staff.
Hello!!

Dave and our new friend.!!

For a dive bar, the ratio of fun to wackness was pretty good...
In these next photos, you will see Ty, who never dances, get approached by a young lady and gradually goe from uncomfortable, to interested, to exited.

After a night of Shenanigans, it was time to go home.
I think Dave had a good time.

This is where we slept for the night/morning (we did not get in until 7 am ).We were staying on this compound (in the middle of the city) that had a full arboretum, farm animals and a inhabited treehouse...check this out.

EMU!!! Who the F*ck has Emu in their backyard in the middle of little Haiti, Miami??!!
(what's the plural of Emu?)

Geese.

Goats.

Farm animals in the middle of the city!

After hanging out with with animals, we drove back to Tampa for the last show of the tour.

Dj Orion in Tampa.
