About Me

I am a photographer, writer and social scientist...this is my forum for creative expression. I am using this blog to document my days and nights in the city that never sleeps...all the photographs, unless otherwise credited, have been shot by yours truly. If I offend you...good...I hope you begin to think more critically about the world in which we live. I am here to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly...and there is a whole lotta ugly out there!!! If you have a problem with anything that I write or photograph, let me know. It will not change my opinion but I appreciate and welcome discourse. One little bit of advice...don't do stupid things and let me photograph you...it will turn up on my blog.

Thanks.

Wale show at HIghline Ballroom ft. Mark Ronson, Chrisette Michelle, Freeway, Young Chris, Ryan Leslie, and Pusha T...and Jay - Z

Last night was crazy...I shot an event for Manhattan magazine and then went over to Highline Ballroom to check out Wale (an artist from DC that is about to take GoGo nationwide).
The evening was hosted by Hot 97 DJs Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg; Colin Munroe was the first act, followed by Kid Kudi (an artist from Ohio that was pretty dope), with Wale headlining and bringing up a ton of special guests.

Let's get started.

I knew something was up when I saw Freeway outside of the venue...

Homie from the WIRE.

Mark Ronson hit the Turntables for dope set of DJ Premier influenced music.

Wale Live performance: Pretty Dope. I normally talk shit about rappers that think they are going to put DC on the map, but for some reason I really liked the show. First things first...I was at a GoGo in NYC...people don't understand....in DC, GoGo music is bigger than hip hop, so to finally see somebody blend GoGo and hip hop in front of a packed crowd in NYC, was dope. He rocked out wit the UCB band and brought up a bunch of special guests...Uptown!!!

Surprise!!! - Freeway hit the stage, joined later by Young Chris (Chris and Neef).

The rock was in the building...another surprise in waiting...

Chrisette Michelle and Wale performed their song, "Rising up", from The Roots new album.

Pusha T (The Clipse) hit the stage going nuts...I mean OD!!!!

And to finish the show off, Wale brought out Ryan Leslie.

Random shots throughout the night

JAY - Z ... hanging out with Kid Cudi.

Kid Cudi...big up Ohio.

Check the kicks...

This is a photo of Freeway after the show, thanking people for their support.... and something about burners...

Charles Hamilton - Pink Lava Lamp party

Monday night was kind of cool. I shot the Charles Hamilton "Pink Lava Lamp" mixtape release party. It my first chance to see him perform, my homeboy in DC has told me how good this kid was, but you never know. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I liked his attitude...music is serious for him.

Charles Hamilton - favorite color is pink.

A fan with the mixtape.

Last week was nuts. DC for Thanksgiving, Philly to hang out with my girlfriend's family for the weekend and back to NYC for a couple of days. On Dec 1st, I attended the Gen Art shop event...it was kind of dope. I did not buy anything, but I ran into some friends, my girlfriend had a great time and I took some photos...Enjoy

This dude (on the right) has on one of the coolest outfits I have seen in a long time. You have to have confidence to rock this... nice bow tie...

I like the pattern on the dress...very festive.

Over the next couple of months I am going to document as many Guns n Roses T - shirts as possible!!!
AWESOME!!! - Homie in the picture has the shirt that very few people know about...

Take a close look at the ring...

These dudes were awesome...I love the hats!!!

I don't know why, but I wanted to take a photo of these boots..they seemed kind of cool.

I am glad that I am a guy and I can wear converse all stars and vans. If I was expected to wear stuff like this, I would be a social misfit and outcast relegated to living as a hermit in a cave by myself...dope shoes though...I think my girlfriend would look great in them.
