About Me

I am a photographer, writer and social scientist...this is my forum for creative expression. I am using this blog to document my days and nights in the city that never sleeps...all the photographs, unless otherwise credited, have been shot by yours truly. If I offend you...good...I hope you begin to think more critically about the world in which we live. I am here to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly...and there is a whole lotta ugly out there!!! If you have a problem with anything that I write or photograph, let me know. It will not change my opinion but I appreciate and welcome discourse. One little bit of advice...don't do stupid things and let me photograph you...it will turn up on my blog.

Thanks.

A night at 1223 (Wash DC)

A night at 1223

Always show love to the DJ!!!

This is proof that 40 year old white chicks may not want to dance on the speaker.

Kissing on the dance floor....that's what's up

What up DJ...way to keep the party rocking.

Now...here is where the fun begins. In the next few shots, you will see a bunch of young ladies hanging out. The real question is: are all of these ladies really "ladies"?

You be the judge.!!! Leave a comment.

These young ladies were out having a good time for the bachelorette party. Congrats.

The rest of the folks that you are going to see were just having a good time at 1223.

Nice coat -- what is the deal with everybody rocking FUR...don't they know that animal cruelty is not cool?

Shaq birthday party

Friday night there was a party up on 135th and 12th Ave...I was there shooting the red carpet. It was supposed to be a birthday party for Shaq (of the Miami Heat), but I don't even think he showed. By the end of the night, I had been in the cold for 3 hours and the only "celebs" (whatever that means) that showed were Fab 5 Freddy, Choppa(er), Dj Red Alert (the coolest dude of the night), Dougie Fresh, Andre Harrell, and DJ K-Slay. Check it out

A very cool doorwoman, she had to manage the red carpet - which also doubled for the crowded V.I.P. entranceFab 5 Freddy
Choppa(er)
Party goers
If that Fur is real, I want to boycott her, if it's fake...I still want to boycott her.

What up Dj Red Alert - Andre Harrell showed up, saw the confusion at the door and headed right back home.

Dj Kay -Slay ...he got into an interesting situation with my man Dj Raedawn, do the research.
I'm out.

Things that bother me.

This is a post involving pictures that I did not take.

The first one is this month's cover of Vogue magazine. Have a look.

Much has been said about this, I'll let you draw your own conclusion, but in my opinion, the inference is obvious.

This next photo is the image of Kristen "Billie" Davis - a prostitute and madam, that is getting a whole lot of rich married men in trouble...she was was recently busted and her file of clients was obtained.
photo -pagesix.com

This next picture is the image of Ashely Dupre - on of the hooker involved in the Elliot Spitzer debacle. - photo from pagesix.com

One question? Why would you F*ck up everything for these chicks? You're the Governor, yet you're hanging out with trashy hookers? I don't understand, maybe you do.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know about some of the things that are bothering me.
Peace.

PS...if you are ever elected to a state office, make sure that on the day of your inauguration, you discuss your marital infidelities and then a week later mention your marijuana and cocaine use.

The Roots listening party - RISING DOWN

Hello everyone, I hope this week has been a good one. Check out the latest flicks. Wednesday night I went to a listening party for The Roots' new album, "Rising Down", at Legacy Studios in Manhattan. I sat in on an interview with ?uestlove and Black Thought and then hung around the studio for a minute listening to an amazing album that ?uestlove and James Poysner put together ( a remix album of Al Green's material).

By the way, the new ROOTS album is off the hook. I heard the whole thing and I love most of it!

Now presenting: The Legendary ROOTS CREW

Black Thought and ?uestlove

Truck North - featured on RISING DOWN

Outside of Studio room A, the party was raging...free drinks, free food and a lot of hot (temperture hot) people. The place was like a furnace that smelled like fried chicken and sweaty people.

I ran into homie from Kidz in the Hall - here with "J", from Allhiphop.com
Check out this sweatshirt!!!! - Only in 2008
Here we have BLK JKS and Black Thought

BLK JKS live in effect.

N.E.R.D. afterparty (K st Lounge..Wash DC)

Here we go...I was hired to shoot a Hennessy party in DC...the special invited guest was N.E.R.D.
The night was insane. People were going crazy for Pharrell - I mean to the point of crying, yelling, pushing, shoving - and even more ridiculousness. Check it out.

I don't know if you recognize the young lady on the left - it is my cousin's sister. You may know her as Seasonz.

Things were pretty chill until N.E.R.D. arrived - all of a sudden the whole club went nuts!!

There was an impromptu performance by DC's own Wale!!!

And then...back to the drinks.!!!

Dope Shirt

Somebody needs a bib.

What up ladies!!!!!!!

Say Cheese

After I took this picture, the young lady asked me, "So, did you make me look sexy?" This is the most gangster dude wearing a shirt representing the most preppy dude ever!!
--- enlarge this and check out the tattoos on the hand.

And like that...he was gone
