Last night I attended "Noisemakers with Peter Rosenberg" - a night of music and conversation with famed musician, journalist and producer ?uesto. The night also included Qool DJ Uncle Q on the 1s and 2s, and the Jazz Hip-Hop fusion band, Igmar Thomas and The Cypher, who performed a tribute to ?uesto's music. It went down at the 92Y Tribeca and was like a hop hop version of Inside the Actors studio.
What is Noisemakers?
NoiseMakers is a live talk show for the hip hop generation at 92 Y Tribeca. Basically I sit down with some of the people who are most significant to the hip hop community and have an in depth chat with them about their lives, contributions and what they think about what's going on. But it's also a lot more than that. At each NoiseMakers we have our band do a live musical tribute to our guest. I joke around. I take questions from the audience. Basically think of if your favorite late night talk show was a lot more in depth, and a lot more focused on what real hip hop fans are interested in and care about.
